Reflecting on my childhood in Ireland, being one of six and having cared for other's Children, I possessed the desire to pass onto my own children the sense of warmth, comfort and security with which I grew up. I could not help but see that there would be a tremendous amount of satisfaction if I could somehow capture that same sense in a more tangible way, ...a way that my children could keep and hold onto every day, ...forever. It is natural to draw on experiences. Having studied Cultural Anthropology abroad, and Art in New York City as well as having a career in computers, I knew I had firm groundwork for establishing a family and creating a nurturing environment. However, throughout my life's studies and experiences the one most significant realization was the importance of passing on that comfort and security with lasting permanence. Thus the legacy of Knotty Baby began. Once I realized that I could create something functional as well as beautiful that would enrich the life of my first child and that she could keep, the aura was one of utter fulfillment. Now the idea of Knotty Baby blankets has evolved and grown along with the rest of my family. I consider each one a work of art and each one is created with the same care as though it was for my own child. Each blanket is unique. No two are alike. The design balance of color in combination with texture results in simplicity and elegance that are utterly luxurious. That is what I would give my children, ...Only the best, ...From the heart.
